Quilt for Hizz

I started this scrappy quilt from my stash over 4 years ago when I heard some friends in town were expecting a baby. Life got in the way and the baby is now a 4 year old with a new little brother and we have both moved away from p-town. I know her mom isn't the crafty type so she won't have too many quilts and I hope it keeps her warm and makes her smile.

Matching soft brown hat

I only made a few presents for Christmas this year. I knew I was making this hat for my aunt to match the fingerless gloves I gave her last year, so I cast it on about two weeks before the holiday. Then I spent a couple days at the airport on standby. This was one of the projects I finished while there and I even took it for a test run. Several fellow travelers complimented the hat so I was very excited to give it to my aunt.

When I finally got to Mom's and got all the presents wrapped so we could have Christmas it was New Years Eve. We handed out presents and unwrapped. And I couldn't figure out what was in the box for my aunt. I felt very silly when I finally remembered what it was! Mom and I had been caught a few days earlier talking about it and had given her the hint that it was well received on a test drive around the airport. She must have thought we were very strange when she opened a pair of socks!
