Iknitarod fingerless gloves 2014

In 2014 I tackled some long fingerless gloves for my Iknitarod project.  I completed the first one during the race.

Like my other Iknitarod projects, I used the iditarod colorway from raven frog fibers.

And I completed the second one in Washington just before a sailing trip.

Blue Ribbon Hat

Made with yarn from my stash for my man.  I added the ribbon to give it some character and lined the ear band with windproof fleece.  He loves it and says he can't wait for it to get colder.

Red Honeycomb Cowl

Deliciously soft and a joy to knit and wear.  I started and finished this in 2012 with yarn I bought on a work trip (with Leigh) to Portland.  We walked down to Happy Knits after a day of long meetings.  I have enough leftover to do a hat, just have to add it to my list.

Zebra tutu

Because why not?  My theme for races this year is zebras.  Last year was flamingos.  This one has a stretchy sparkley outer layer and two layers of tulle.  I basted and gathered the layers together and then hand stitched on to the elastic for the waist.

Variegated Owl Hat

...with button eyes...I lined the earband with windstop fleece...maybe I make a second one for me with the leftover yarn...
