Iknitarod Hat

Last year this was my iknitarod project.  A hat seemed like a very reasonable project to try to complete when graduation was scheduled for the end of April.

I love the seed stitch band at the bottom and the big fat soft cables.  Very warm and cozy.  And a quick knit.

I used a silk blend from my Raven Frog Fibers collection of iditarod yarn I bought a couple years ago.  It was heavenly to work with and the pattern was a quick find on ravelry.

The official race restart was yesterday in Willow.  And since I'm not busy skiing, I will be casting on a new project with another iditarod yarn tonight.  Stay tuned!  And hopefully I won't have any broken bones to model this year.
