Thanksgiving Quilting

Mom and I did some quilting over my Thanksgiving visit. We did a mystery quilt that I did in a one day class on the island last year. We strip cut one day and pieced the next day. Smokey lined up and pinned pieces to be sewn together, ripped out mistakes, and pressed blocks. Desperation set in when the iron broke. Mom made a phone call and soon I was off in the night to do a mid-street iron pick up. This is after she cheated and worked on the quilt she made for my sister while I was off visiting other family.

Believe it or not, this is the one I made on the island. It has borders and a Bear on it, but I swear it's the same pattern. Tatonka helped me decide that the blocks looked better turned to form stripes for this print. The backing fabric is zebra stripes. Someday I'll actually get the binding on it and get it back on the bed so it can be totally furred up.

Here is the Frog model of the quilt. He likes to show off his zebra stripes and hopes I'll chose to put this quilt on the bed stripe side up. What a helpful kitty.
