Welcome to my space for cataloging my fun with fiber. This is a dress I built for Meshayla and took to her at Thanksgiving. I have a second one cut out but was paranoid that she had grown a lot since I cut it so I took my scraps of fabric with me when I went to visit (thank you Aunt Mary) in case the straps needed to be longer. I think Smokey has some more pictures that I will add to this post later. Oh, BTW, it's corduroy with cherries on it!
Here is a closeup of the bottom of the side seam. I cut the pieces a little wrong so I added this ruffle to the back rather than also shorten the front. Mom was correct that her little dog would like this ruffle, he went straight for it when she put the dress on! I also was an inch short on ric rac so I added this piece of ribbon. It has my name on it and everyone assumed it was a label instead of a mistake! I got a whole spool of this ribbon when I was a little girl.
